Commission - Air Arts

Kaleidoscopic Anatomy for the UHDB Medical Museum.

Project Brief - The creation of two small scale anatomical models inspired by the drawings of E J Lance. One sculpture inspired by the heart, the other by the cochlea in the inner ear. The works should have an element of surrealism, echoing the surreal nature of the drawings but should also be able to be identified as anatomical.

Private Commission

Project brief - To design and produce artwork for a private garden in Tourrettes, France . Taking inspiration from the natural world and the surrounding landscape and with input from the client I designed and produced this large scale bronze.

Pembroke House

Project brief - To design and produce artworks for a private garden in Hampshire. Taking inspiration from the natural world and surrounding landscape and with input from the client I designed and produced three pieces “Tree” “Leaf” and “Bird”.

Leaf Water feature

The client wanted the sound of flowing water so we created a water feature . The lighting looks dramatic and creates a flame like glow when the water hits the pool.

Buxton Museum - Collection of the Artists

Arts Council funded project to create a bronze sculpture responding to the museums collections. “Transition” is a response to objects in the museums Stone Age / Bronze Age period.

"Buxton Museum and Art Gallery was pleased to commission Simon to make a new piece of art for their Wonders of the Peak Gallery in 2016. This was an Arts Council England commission in which six artists were asked to respond to the amazing collections at the museum. We were drawn to Simon's fascination in layers and differing planes in the samples he bought to an initial discussion. We gave Simon the opportunity to develop a work to be cast in bronze; he chose to explore the attributes of the stone and metal artefacts found on the White Peak. His tactile maquettes of the blade edges were replicated in clay as handling objects. Simon thrived in the supportive and collaborative process. His elegant casting speaks strongly of the strength of the metal, the sharpness of the blades and the timelessness of the tool shapes created by our ancestors."

Holly Lodge

Holly Lodge Gates – Commissioned by the NHS to create stainless steel gates. The gates were designed with input through a series of workshops from service users accessing Lichfield CAMHS.

Trafford Centre Sculpt

Commissioned by SAS to produce a maquette and sculpt large scale clay figures. The Sculpture can be seen in the Trafford Centre Manchester.

Private Commission

Memorial painting celebrating the life of Leigh Twist.

Wheatsheaf Pub

Commissioned by Indigo Art to produce two paintings on the theme “Facial expressions on a rollercoaster ride” The paintings are now housed in the newly refurbished Weatherspoon’s pub ‘Wheatsheaf’ in Cheadle Staffordshire.
